“ Really great food, good services, the hotel looks nice too ”
“ The food is good but not fantastic, was not aware until leaving that other fish was available that was not on the menu, we both wanted Scallops, 5 star hotel with 5 star prices ”
“ I’ve been to Captain Cook at the Marinela Hotel many times, and it’s definitely one of my favorite spots in Sofia, especially during the winter months. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, making it a perfect place to enjoy a relaxing meal. What I really love about Captain Cook is the excellent Mediterranean cuisine — fresh, flavorful, and always well-prepared. Every dish I’ve tried has been consistently good, which keeps me coming back. For a restaurant located in a top hotel, the prices are very reasonable — it’s definitely a budget-friendly option compared to many other places in Sofia offering similar quality. The service is also impressive — professional, attentive, and friendly every time I visit. It’s clear they care about providing a good experience for their guests. If you’re looking for a place with delicious Mediterranean food, great service, and fair prices, Captain Cook is a fantastic choice. Highly recommended for casual lunches, dinners, or a cozy winter evening out! ”
“ A beautiful, upscale spot with tasty food and exceptionally friendly staff. I especially loved the large windows opening to a lush garden with peacocks—such a peaceful and unique atmosphere. A truly enjoyable experience! ”
“ Excellent exclusive restaurant with good variations of seafood and steaks. It is located inside of hotel, you can park on street if you’re lucky or use hotel parking for 10 bgn per hour :-). Reservations in evening is recommended. ”
“ If you feel like having a great fish, seafood dishes, a beautiful atmosphere and a nice service Captain Cook is definitely your place. We went there for an early dinner, it’s better if you make a reservation. We tried a trio tartar as appetizer, sea bass, teriyaki salmon, and a katmer with pistachio and ice cream as a dessert. Regarding the ambience, service and quality of food I would give 5 stars ⭐ ”
“ Loved the place, the location is a bit tricky so it is inside the hotel and you need to pass the elevators and then it’s on the right. Food was amazing, we had the trio tartar, wagyu tartar, the captain trio and the truffle spread and then for the mains we ordered the rib-eye and the barbecue sea bass. I literally licked my fingers at every starter. Best seafood tartar ever no joke, must order. The staff was polite, there was a confusion with the bill as we had 20% off but they didn’t apply it so they had to give us cash and told us to tell them beforehand but we thought as the reservation is made through rezzo they will be able to see. Everything else was perfect though ”
“ We visited the restaurant today and i was very impressed! Top quality food, attention to detail, the service was fast, absolutely professional and friendly. The experience is personalized and discreet. We tried different things and combinations and were very pleased with everything!Their desserts fantastic and handmade. The only single thing that bothered us a bit was that due to the space being open still because of the light temperature, occasionally some flies were coming to our table and we had to be shooing them away. Other than that, all was wonderful. No mistakes in the taste, textures or dish presentation. The dining area is big with a ship aesthetic, that clearly a lot of work and inspiration has went into. Will definitely be back. A MUST-visit in Sofia! Thank you for the wonderful time! P.S Huge congratulations to the beautiful presentation in the end,of our dessert,by our waiter who literally made it himself with his own hands! Very happy to witness that! ”
